Meet Our Native American Jewelry Designers
We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with several Native American artists to create designs inspired by the animals, plants and people that were here long before us. Meet these talented Native American jewelry designers and discover which of their creations speaks to you.
Fritz Casuse – Growing up on a Navajo reservation in New Mexico, Casuse showed early aptitude for the arts. He studied sculpture at the Institute of American Indian Arts and discovered a passion for crafting jewelry that balances colorful gemstones, detailed textures and a sense of whimsical charm.
Jody Naranjo – Pottery is a family legacy for Naranjo, whose mother, grandmother and aunts are all renowned for their work with clay. By age 15, Naranjo was selling her wares to tourists in Santa Fe, and by 19, the eighth-generation artist was featured in galleries. Her Native American necklace designs and other jewelry incorporate traditional clay-work techniques, like sgraffito carvings of birds and animals.
Roderick Tonorio – A 1981 graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts, U.S. Army veteran, singer and talented sculptor, Tonorio unfortunately passed away in 2013. His award-winning Gentle Rain collection expressed a deep appreciation for the fruitfulness of nature.
