The beautiful blue-turquoise New Mexico sky will welcome warm weather to bring out a big crowd. The art, jewelry, pottery and weaves will be amazing to behold. And we hope the rain dances are for entertainment only this year! 🌵
Let’s rediscover the Enchantment we have with the Land of New Mexico
The ancient tradition of Turquoise, dating back to Egypt’s Queen Cleopatra. Thousands of years later, the Mayans and Aztecs in the Americas would call it the color of authority. The history of the Squash Blossom, to pay homage to the Three Sisters planting of corn, beans and squash. The sacred necklace is crowned in the center with Spanish influence, the Naja! The symbolism of Spirit Stones to celebrate the critters and the petroglyphs on the canyon walls. With American West Jewelry, you are wearing designs of New Mexico the Land of Enchantment! 🏜️
Turquoise: New Creations. Ancient Traditions.
Turquoise is the first recorded stone in history to be used as a Gemstone! In the American West, turquoise was traded as currency among the Pueblo Indians. In Native American lore, blue turquoise is referred to as the Sky Stone, representing the eternal heavens, the life-giving sun and renewing rains. Green turquoise is referred to as the Earth Stone for its earthy green color and copper matrix. According to Navajo legend, the sun was created from a piece of turquoise, the moon from a piece of shell. 🐚
Turquoise has been said to provide mental relaxation, confidence and balance. It originates from North, South & Central America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Mother Earth loved it so much that she put it almost everywhere for us! Turquoise is synonymous with the Southwest and we celebrate it with our Western style. It is so much more than a December birthstone. Turquoise looks great on everyone, so Gals check out our SALE! 🩵
Squash Blossoms: Celebrate the Art of Ancestors.
Legend has it, the Squash Blossom Naja Necklace is the must-have Southwest treasure. The traditional statement necklace will take you to the Plaza in Santa Fe for Indian Market. It will get you noticed in Taos white visiting the Millicent Rogers Museum. The design of the necklace must include the most precious Squash flower. Also, the good-luck horseshoe shape Naja, the Navajo word for crescent. Good luck for you, Cowgirls, we have a Sale! 🧲
Genuine gemstones of Lapis, Turquoise, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and Unakite (pictured), are only a few we create the masterpiece in. The necklace of Sterling Silver ombré polished beads will be your chic Western couture prize! Our collection includes bears, birds (including the mythical thunderbird), dragonflies and a whole herd of horses! Also, the sacred turtle, believed to be the beginning of life on earth. The protective shield, the desert tortoise is featured prominently in Native American lore. 🐢
The designs in our whimsical collection are inspired by the animals, plants and celestial bodies native to New Mexico. Keeping us ever mindful of our connection to the Great Spirit. Whether walking across the desert in late Summer, surrounded by wildflowers and fleeing critters… Or taking in the splendor of a harvest moon… There is a closeness to the Creator that the Spirit Stone Collection captures.
